On April 3rd this year Hope Community launched its new Cafe of Reminiscence. A Café of Reminiscence is an opportunity for people to share stories and memories of the people they have loved and have died, in a welcoming environment over tea and cake. Activities also take place within these sessions. Hope Community – Lunch and Company for the Over 50’s Hope’s friendship group meets regularly throughout the year on the first and third Thursday of the month. It began in June 2015 to provide an opportunity for people aged over 50 to meet, socialise and take part in activities. Our Meerkats group had loads of fun at Play Zone in Bentley Bridge Fitness Centre. The children loved the physical activity, and after a hours play was happy to have a well-earned rest while enjoying a meal together.
Christmas Fair Hope held it’s annual Christmas Fair on the 5th December. Santa brought his inflatable grotto this year… The tombola was a huge success and sold out in just over ½ hour! The grotto was paid for by YMCA/Headstart, face-painter by United Living and the tuckshop was funded by donations from the Asda Foundation and Greggs. Over £200 was raised in total.
